
Rashmi Verma, Ghyanendra N. Bajpai & Sujit K. Varma Reappointed As Independent Directors At Uflex
Rashmi Verma, Ghyanendra Nath Bajpai, and Sujit Kumar Varma have been reappointed as Independent Directors of Uflex Limited with effect from February 14, 2026, April 17, 2026, and May 26, 2026, respectively.
Verma is a retired IAS officer with a career spanning over 36 years. She has served in several key capacities across the Government of India. Her last position was Secretary, Ministry of Tourism, where she contributed to policy and sectoral development. She also served as Secretary, Ministry of Textiles, and as Additional Secretary, Department of Revenue in the Ministry of Finance. Through her diverse roles, she has gained extensive experience in governance, public administration, and economic policy across multiple sectors. Verma holds an M.A. and M.Phil. in Political Science from Delhi University, an MBA (Project-Based) from the University of Hull, UK, and an M.Phil. in Sociology from the Indian Institute of Public Administration (IIPA).
Bajpai is a prominent figure in Indian business and finance, having served as Chairman of the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) and earlier as Chairman of the Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC). During his tenure, he played a key role in shaping regulatory and institutional frameworks in the financial sector. He has also held global leadership roles, including Chairman of the Corporate Task Force of the International Organisation of Securities Commissions. In addition, he has served as Chairperson of the Insurance Institute of India, contributing to the development of the insurance sector. Bajpai holds a master’s degree in commerce from Agra University and a degree in law (LL.B.) from Indore University.
Varma has over three decades of experience in retail credit, trade finance, international banking, risk management, and compliance. He built a distinguished career at the State Bank of India (SBI). During his tenure, he held key positions such as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of SBI New York, General Manager of the Mid-Corporate Regional Office in Mumbai, and Chief General Manager of International Banking. He retired in January 2021 as Deputy Managing Director of the Corporate Accounts Group at SBI. Varma holds a Bachelor of Arts (Hons.) in English and has completed certifications from leading institutions, including the Indian Institute of Banking & Finance, Harvard Business School, NYU Stern School of Business, IIM Ahmedabad, and IIM Calcutta.
