Vinod Kumar Pipersenia & Sanjay Pant Appointed As Independent Directors At DCI Board

Government-backed Dredging Corporation of India Ltd (DCI) has appointed Vinod Kumar Pipersenia and Sanjay Pant as Non-Executive Independent Directors, subject to shareholder approval.

Pipersenia is a retired IAS officer of the 1980 batch, Assam-Meghalaya cadre, who superannuated as Chief Secretary of Assam. During his career, he held key positions in both the Government of Assam and the Government of India. In October 2018, he was appointed Chairman of Assam Power Distribution Company Ltd., Assam Electricity Grid Company Ltd., and Assam Power Generation Corporation Ltd., contributing to the state’s power sector leadership. He is a science graduate and a postgraduate in English literature from Allahabad University.

Pant, a 1990-batch officer of the Indian Revenue Service (IRS), served under the Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs with extensive experience across service tax, central excise, customs, and GST. He held key roles in Bengaluru, Mysuru, Visakhapatnam, Mumbai, JNPT Nhavasheva, Odisha, and Amritsar, besides leading Central Excise divisions in multiple cities. As Commissioner (Appeals), he disposed of over 4,000 cases and passed 2,000 original orders. He contributed to GST policy, cadre restructuring, and budget proposals at CBIC and engaged with industry bodies like FICCI, ASSOCHAM, NASSCOM, and ICAI. He also served as a board member of the Visakhapatnam Port Authority.
