
Sandeep Kataria Steps Down As Bata CEO; Transition Process Begins
Sandeep Kataria, global Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Bata Corporation, has stepped down after five years, The Economic Times reported, citing people familiar with the matter. He is likely to stay on for six months to assist in the transition.
An official announcement is expected this week.
Kataria was the first Indian to lead the Switzerland-based footwear company and had served with Bata for eight years, including three years as head of Bata India. Previously, he has held positions like Chief Commercial Officer at Vodafone, General Manager at Pizza Hut UK & Europe, and Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) at Yum! Brands. He has also served as Unilever’s Global Brand Director & Global Category Manager. Kataria holds a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi, and a master’s degree in business administration from XLRI Jamshedpur.
