
HSBC Chairman Mark Tucker To Succeed Edmund Tse As Chairman & Director Of AIA Group
AIA Group has appointed Mark Tucker as Independent Non-Executive Chairman and Independent Non-Executive Director, effective October 1, 2025.
Tucker will succeed Edmund Sze-Wing Tse, who has announced his retirement from the above-mentioned roles.
Tucker is currently the Non-Executive Group Chairman of HSBC Holdings plc and will step down from that position on September 30, 2025. He previously served as group CEO and President of AIA from 2010 to 2017. He also serves as Non-Executive Group Chairman of Discovery Group in South Africa. With 40 years in financial services across Asia, the US, the UK, and Africa, he was Group Chief Executive and President of AIA Group and, earlier, Group Chief Executive of Prudential plc. He has held positions with the Bank of England, Goldman Sachs, and TheCityUK. He is a member of advisory groups in the UK, China, Hong Kong, Saudi Arabia, and India. Mark serves on Boards including the Asia Society and the Peterson Institute. A Chartered Accountant, he holds a BA and an honorary Doctor of Laws from Leeds University.
