Mark Tucker To Step Down As HSBC Chairman By End Of 2025

HSBC announced that Chairman Mark Tucker will step down by year-end after serving since October 2017. The bank has initiated a search for his successor.

Tucker has four decades of experience in the financial services industry across Asia, the US, the UK, and Africa, including over 30 years in Hong Kong. He was Group Chief Executive and President of AIA Group Limited and previously Group Chief Executive of Prudential plc. He has served on the Court of the Bank of England and the Board of Goldman Sachs Group. He chairs the UK Multinational Chairmen’s Group and is a member of several international advisory councils.

Tucker has also contributed to the UK Investment Council and TheCityUK. He is a trustee of The Asia Society, Director at the Peterson Institute for International Economics, and Associate Professor at the Chinese University of Hong Kong. He qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1985.
