Professor Anurag Kumar Reappointed As Independent Director Of Tata Elxsi

Professor Anurag Kumar has been reappointed as an Independent Director of Tata Elxsi Limited and will take charge w.e.f. November 15, 2025, subject to approval of the shareholders at the ensuing Annual General Meeting (AGM).

Prof. Kumar’s work focuses on communications, networking, and distributed systems, with over 200 peer-reviewed publications. He is a Fellow of multiple science academies and currently serves as an INSA Distinguished Professor at IISc. He has consulted for various organisations and mentored a networking start-up. He worked at AT&T Bell Laboratories from 1981 to 1988 before joining the Indian Institute of Science (IISc) as a faculty member in the Department of Electrical Communication Engineering. He became a Professor in 1996 and served as Director of IISc from 2014 to 2020. He co-authored two books used internationally. Prof. Kumar received his bachelor’s degree in technology from IIT Kanpur in 1977 and a Ph.D. from Cornell University in 1981.
