Parag Satpute To Succeed Dr Arup Basu As Greaves Cotton MD & Group CEO
Greaves Cotton Limited has appointed Parag Satpute as its new Managing Director and Group Chief Executive Officer. He will take over from Dr Arup Basu, whose employment contract will end effective May 9, 2025.
Satpute brings nearly 30 years of experience in the mobility and manufacturing sectors. Prior to this, he served as President of the fleet business at Bridgestone Mobility Solutions and was also the Managing Director of Bridgestone India. Earlier, he spent two decades at Sandvik, where he held leadership roles including Chairman and Managing Director (CMD) of the Board (Subsidiaries) for India. Satpute will lead the operations and strategy of Greaves Engineering, Greaves Retail, Greaves Technologies, and Excel Controlinkage Pvt Ltd.
Dr Arup Basu is the CEO of Greaves Engineering. He is responsible for developing and executing long-term strategies for Greaves Cotton and overseeing the implementation of the company’s purpose and vision across the Engines and Retail businesses. Throughout his career, he has held positions at Huhtamaki PPL, Tata Chemicals, and Tata Motors. Dr Basu completed his engineering studies at Imperial College, London, and earned a Ph.D. in technology with a focus on composite materials from the University of Manchester, UK.
