Radhika Piramal & Bhaskar Bhat Join as Independent Directors Of Metro Brands

Radhika Piramal and Bhaskar Bhat have been appointed as Non-Executive Independent Directors (Additional Directors) of Metro Brands Ltd with effect from February 06, 2025, subject to the approval of shareholders.

Piramal and Bhat have succeeded Manojkumar Madangopal Maheshwari and Aruna Bhagwan Advani, who will retire from the same position with effect from February 05, 2025.

Sekar Ananthanarayan has been appointed for the position of practicing Company Secretary, as the Secretarial Auditor of the company for the Financial Year 2024-25.

Piramal is a business leader and philanthropist serving as a Director on the Boards of VIP Industries Ltd. and Chalet Hotels Ltd. She is also a trustee for two UK-based charities, GiveOut and Dasra. She has also worked as a management consultant with Bain & Company. Piramal was the Managing Director and CEO of VIP Industries from 2010 to 2017, during which time the company’s market capitalisation grew from USD 150 million to over USD 1 billion. She holds a BA in Politics, Philosophy, and Economics from the University of Oxford and an MBA from Harvard Business School.

Bhat served as Managing Director of Tata Watch Project and Titan Company Ltd. from 2002 until his retirement in 2019. He is an Independent Director at multiple companies and a board member at IITM Pravartak Technologies Foundation. Under his leadership, Titan expanded into eyewear, accessories, fragrances, and sarees, with the company’s market capitalisation growing to USD 13 billion. Bhat holds a degree in Mechanical Engineering from IIT Madras and a PGDBM from IIM Ahmedabad.
