BMO Taps Tony Sciarrino From JPMorgan To Lead U.S. Commercial Banking

Bank of Montreal (BMO) announced that Tony Sciarrino will join the company from JPMorgan Chase to head its U.S. commercial banking division, replacing Ray Whitacre, who is set to retire on January 1.

Sciarrino, who is currently Managing Director at JPMorgan, will step into his new role in March 2025 and report to commercial banking group head Nadim Hirji and CEO Darrel Hackett. With more than 26 years of experience, including senior positions at Bank of America Merrill Lynch, Sciarrino brings a wealth of expertise. He will split his time between BMO’s Chicago and Los Angeles offices, focusing on expanding the bank’s presence in the U.S., especially in Midwest markets. BMO’s rapid U.S. growth, including its USD 16 billion acquisition of Bank of the West in 2023, is expected to benefit from Sciarrino’s leadership as the bank strengthens its retail and commercial banking footprint.
