Zepto’s CHRO Martin Dinesh Gomez Stepped Down In Less Than One Year
The quick commerce startup, Zepto, announced that Chief Human Resource Officer (CHRO) Martin Dinesh Gomez has resigned from the post less than one year after joining. Following his exit, the company has restructured its HR function by introducing the position of Chief Culture Officer, appointing Chandan Mendiratta to the role. Mendiratta, who joined Zepto in January, brings prior experience in leading brand marketing at Zomato.
Gomez submitted his resignation in September and is currently serving his notice period, a company spokesperson confirmed to PTI. Having joined Zepto less than a year ago, Gomez brought with him over two decades of experience from organisations like Amazon, Thomson Reuters, Microsoft, and Accenture. At Amazon, he held a senior role for over 11 years before transitioning to Zepto.
Contrary to media reports, the spokesperson clarified that company co-founder Aadit Palicha has not taken over the HR role.
Gomez’s departure follows a series of senior-level exits at Zepto. In June, Manik Oberoi, former VP of Growth and Retention, and Viral Jhaveri, ex-Chief Business Officer and Chief Growth Officer, left the company. Around the same time, Ashish Shah, former Senior Vice President of Finance, also stepped down from his position.
