Britannia Industries Named Jehangir Nusli Wadia As Non-Independent Director
The Board of Directors of Britannia Industries Limited has approved the appointment of Jehangir Nusli Wadia as an Additional Non-Executive Non-Independent Director with effect from November 11, 2024. Subject to the approval of the members.
Jehangir Nusli Wadia, 51, is an accomplished industrialist and entrepreneur. He was the Managing Director of India’s second-listed public company founded in 1863, The Bombay Burmah Trading Corporation Limited, from 2001 to 2011. He also contributed as MD of The Bombay Dyeing and Manufacturing Company Ltd. In 2011, he diversified the company into real estate and founded Bombay Realty. In 2008, Wadia was elected as a Young Global Leader by the World Economic Forum. He has served as MD for 20 years at public companies in India and led a private airline for 16 years. He was also a Director on the Board of Britannia Industries Ltd. for 16 years. He has a Master in Science from Warwick University in England. He completed his initial schooling at Lawrence School, Sanawar, and subsequently attended Millfield, a boarding school in England.
Wadia is the son of Nusli N. Wadia, Chairman of the company, and brother of Ness N. Wadia, Non-Executive Non-Independent Director of the company.
