Godfrey Phillips India Appoints Vishal Dhariwal As CFO, And Avtar Singh Monga As Independent Director

The Board of Directors of Godfrey Phillips India Limited on November 11, 2024, has approved the appointment of Vishal Dhariwal as Chief Financial Officer (CFO) w.e.f. March 01, 2025, in place of Sunil Agrawal, who shall assume the role of an Advisor on key business and strategic matters w.e.f. March 1, 2025, and shall continue to be the Senior Management Personnel (SMP). Vishal Dhariwal has around 19 years of experience. He joined the company in June 2022. Before that, he was the Partner-Assurance Services, S.R. Batliboi & Co. LLP (an Ernst & Young network firm). He is a qualified Chartered Accountant and a Postgraduate in Business Administration from Symbiosis, Pune.

The Board has approved the appointment of Avtar Singh Monga as an Additional Director, on the Board of the company in the category of Non-Executive and Independent Director for five years with effect from November 12, 2024. Avtar Singh Monga has over 40 years of experience in building global enterprises at the leadership positions both for India as well as global level. He set up Bank of America’s Global Capability Centre BA Continuum in multiple countries and served as its MD for almost a decade. He has also been part of the GE Capital India Management Team, where he spearheaded SBI Card JV as well as Transport Financial Services as CEO. More recently, he was COO and Head of Retail Bank with IDFC First Bank.

Lastly, the Board has approved the appointment of Pumit Kumar Chellaramani as Company Secretary and Compliance Officer with effect from November 12. Sumit Kumar Chellaramani is a qualified Company Secretary and a law graduate. He has around 19 years of experience. He joined the company in September 2023. Before that, he worked as the Company Secretary of Hindustan Media Ventures Ltd. (HT Media Group) and earlier worked with TV18 (the media arm of Reliance Industries) and Trident Group.
