Praj Industries Appoints Dr. Pramod Chaudhari And Ajay Deshpande To Key Board Roles

The Board of Directors of Praj Industries Limited on October 25, 2024, have approved the appointment of Dr. Pramod Chaudhari as a Non-Executive Chairman for five years, which will be effective from January 1, 2025.

The Board has also appointed Ajay Narayan Deshpande as an Additional Director and Independent Director for three years with effect from October 25, 2024. Both are subject to the approval of shareholders.

Dr. Pramod Chaudhari is the promoter and founder Director of Praj Industries. He has over 53 years’ experience. He is a ‘Distinguished Alumnus of IIT Bombay (1971)’ and an alumnus of Harvard Business School (AMP 1995). He is a winner of the prestigious George Washington Carver Award 2020 by BIO Impact, Washington, DC, USA. Dr. Chaudhari is the first Indian to receive this global honour. He is also the winner of the William C. Holmberg Award.

Ajay Narayan Deshpande is an elected Fellow of INAE (Indian National Academy of Engineering) as well as of IIChE (Indian Institute of Chemical Engineers). He is a former Director (Technical) of M/s Engineers India Ltd., where he also held additional charge as Chairman & Managing Director (C&MD) before his superannuation in 2018. He has been selected by INAE as a Distinguished Visiting Professor and an Industry Expert in Chemical Engineering. He was also a member of the Make in India committee of the administrative ministry. He holds a B.Tech degree in Chemical Engineering and an M.Tech in Management & Systems, both degrees secured with top honours from LIT-Nagpur and IT-Delhi, respectively.
