Atul Choksey, Haigreve Khaitan, And Mahesh Gupta Retire From CEAT Board
The second term of Atul Choksey, Haigreve Khaitan, and Mahesh S. Gupta as Independent Directors of CEAT Limited ended on September 25, 2024.
Khaitan is the Managing Partner at Khaitan & Co., overseeing the firm’s strategic growth. With over 30 years of experience, Khaitan has led high-profile cases across industries in India. As a strategic advisor, he devises innovative solutions for legal and regulatory challenges, including M&A, restructurings, and disputes. He actively contributes to policy-making bodies, such as the Competition Commission of India and the Securities and Exchange Board of India. He has received numerous accolades, including recognition by Chambers and Partners, Legal 500, and Who’s Who Legal, and has been named an “eminent practitioner” and “elite thought leader” in M&A. He serves as an Independent Non-Executive Director on the Boards of several Indian companies, including Jio Platforms, Torrent Pharmaceuticals, Mahindra & Mahindra, CEAT, JSW Steel, Tech Mahindra, PVR INOX, and Borosil Renewables.
Atul C. Choksey, Chairman of Apcotex Industries Limited (AIL), holds a degree in Chemical Engineering from the Illinois Institute of Technology, Chicago. Previously, Atul served as Managing Director of Asian Paints from 1984 to 1997. He has also been on the Boards of Marico and Finolex Cables and was President of the Indian Paint Association and Bombay Chamber of Commerce.
Mahesh S. Gupta, Group Advisor at Ashok Piramal Group, oversees diverse businesses, including real estate, textiles, cutting tools, and renewable energy. With nearly four decades of experience in business management and finance, he previously spent 17 years at Piramal Enterprises Limited and served as Group CFO for the RPG Group. Recognised for his business acumen, Mahesh received the CFO of the Year Award for Financial Excellence in Mergers and Acquisitions from IMA in 2001.
