MGL Appoints Harish Agarwal and MK Gupta as Independent Directors
The Board of Directors of Mahanagar Gas Limited has approved the appointment of Harish Kumar Agarwal and Mahesh Kumar Gupta as Additional Directors, designated as Independent Directors for a period of three years with effect from August 24, 2024.
Malvika Sinha has been reappointed as the Independent Director.
On the other hand, Venkatraman Srinivasan and Rajeev Bhaskar Sahi have retired as they completed their term.
Harish Kumar Agarwal is a fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) and has worked for Reliance Industries Ltd., and Indian Oil Corporation Ltd. He has held positions in a variety of capacities, including managing customs and excise procedures and compliances, overseeing project accounting, treasury operations, digitalisation of processes, long-term supply/purchase contracts, development of new business, due diligence for acquisitions, and establishment of comprehensive accounting and commercial processes for a greenfield refinery.
Mahesh Kumar Gupta has over four decades of experience. In 2018, he was superannuated from his position as Ex-Officio Secretary to the Government of India and Member Engineering, Railway Board. He has previously served as Chairman of the Indian Railway Stations Development Corporation and the Rail Land Development Authority. He served as a member of the Public Enterprises Selection Board (DoPT/GoI). He holds degrees in law from the University of Mumbai and civil engineering from Roorkee University (now IIT Roorkee), both from 1979.
