Independent Director Kalpana Morparia retires from Dr. Reddy’s Board

Kalpana Morparia will cease to be an Independent Director (Lead Independent Director) of Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories Limited with effect from July 30, 2024, after completion of her second term of directorship. Consequently, she will also cease to be the Chairperson of the Nomination, Governance and Compensation Committees, and the Stakeholders’ Relationship Committee, and a member of the Audit Committee and the Sustainability and CSR Committee.

Kalpana Morparia is the former Chairman of JPMorgan South and Southeast Asia and was a member of JPMorgan’s Asia Pacific Management Committee. Before joining JPMorgan, India, Morparia had a long tenure with the ICICI Group, starting in 1975. Her last role at ICICI was as Vice Chair. From 2001 to 2007, she served as Jt. MD of ICICI Group. She has contributed to several committees formed by the Government of India and has been recognised by both national and international media as one of the leading women professionals. She is an Independent Director on the Boards of Hindustan Unilever, Philip Morris International Inc., and the Generation India Foundation. Additionally, she is a member of the Board of Governors of the Bharti Foundation and the Foundation for Audit Quality (FAQ). She was recognised by the Padma Shri by the Government of India for her significant contributions to the growth and governance of the Indian industry, particularly in the banking sector. She holds degrees in science and law from Mumbai University.
