M. Jayaraman Appointed as Actuary of Star Health and Allied Insurance
Star Health and Allied Insurance Company Limited has announced that M. Jayaraman has been appointed Actuary and Key Managerial Personnel (KMP) of the company, subject to the approval of the Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority of India (IRDAI). The appointment shall take effect from the date of approval by IRDAI.
Also, Radha Vijayaraghavan is appointed as the Chief Compliance Officer and Key Managerial Personnel of the company, with effect from April 30, 2024.
Vishwajeet Mohnot ceased to be the Chief Compliance Officer and KMP of the company. He is redesignated as Executive President and non-KMP with effect from April 30, 2024.
M. Jayaraman is a fellow member of the Institute of Actuaries of India with a specialisation in healthcare and more than 25 years of profound IT and actuarial experience. He was chief actuary for Union Assurance, Sri Lanka, managing the actuarial vertical of the company and providing strategic vision from an actuarial perspective. He was empowered with actuarial analysis to maximise profits, business development and execution of the actuarial modelling framework, and delivering health product development, pricing, and reporting. He was earlier associated with various health, general, and life insurance companies like AIA (Sri Lanka), IDBI Ageas Life Insurance, and Canara HSBC Life Insurance.
Radha Vijayaraghavan, Vice President (Compliances), has been with Star Health since January 2018. She is a Fellow of the Insurance Institute of India with 37 years of experience in the insurance industry. Her insurance journey is spread across various segments and capacities in the industry, having started her career with the New India Assurance Company Limited and then moving onto Reliance General Insurance as Head of Corporate Sales, later as Head of Insurance Division at Ashok Leyland, followed by Head of TN operations with Aon Global, prior to joining Star Health in 2018. She holds a Master’s degree in Organic Chemistry from Delhi University and a Postgraduate Diploma in International Trade from the Indian Institute of Foreign Trade (IIFT) in Delhi.
