Renu Karnad Appointed Chairman at PayU Payments Bank

Renu Sud Karnad, former HDFC Managing Director, has been appointed Chairman at PayU Payments Bank Private Limited. Former global CEO of PayU, Laurent Le Moal, and a few other industry veterans are also joining the company’s Board. Seven members have been inducted into the Board, along with Karnad, Gopika Pant, and Jairaj Purandare have joined as Independent Directors. Laurent Le Moal and Jan Bune joined as Non-Executive Directors. PayU CEO Anirban Mukherjee and CFO Arvind Agarwal are the other Board members.

Currently, Renu Sud Karnad is serving at the International Union of Housing Finance (IUHF) as President and at GlaxoSmithKline Pharmaceuticals as Chairperson.

Gopika Pant has over 38 years of legal experience, and currently, she serves as the managing partner at Indian Law Partners.

Jairaj Purandare is serving as the Founder Chairman of JMP Advisors and has previously worked with PwC India, EY India, and Andersen India.

Laurent Le Moal has served as the global chief executive officer of the PayU Group. Laurent has been a member of the Global Future Council on the Future of Financial and Monetary Systems at the World Economic Forum since October 2019.

Jan Bune concluded his tenure as a senior audit partner at Deloitte Netherlands in May 2013. After his retirement, he served as a board member at the Dutch Media Authority.
