Dr. Naresh Trehan Retires From The Varun Beverages Board

Dr. Naresh Trehan completed his second consecutive term as an Independent Director on the Board of Varun Beverages Limited, one of the largest franchisees of PepsiCo in the world (outside the USA). Consequently, he stepped down from the board on November 30, 2023.

Dr. Trehan, 77, is the founder of Fortis Escorts Heart Institute, MediConnect Global, Inc., and Escorts Heart Institute & Research Centre Ltd. He is the Chairman and Managing Director of Global Health Limited (Medanta). He also serves as an Independent Director of Devyani International Limited, which runs restaurants and bars, including some of the leading brands such as Pizza Hut, KFC, Costa Coffee, and Vaango. He serves on the boards of more than a dozen companies all together.

Dr. Naresh Trehan is a world-renowned cardiovascular and cardiothoracic surgeon. He has been awarded the highly prestigious Padma Bhushan and the Padma Shri by the Government of India. Dr. Trehan has over 48,000 successful open-heart surgeries to his credit.
