Smita Mankad appointed Independent Director of Swaraj Engines

Swaraj Engines Limited has appointed Smita Mankad as a Non Executive Independent Director of the company on 28 July 2023. Her term will be starting from Tuesday 1 August 2023.

52-year-old Smita Mankad has three decades of experience in the corporate, social, and government sectors. As an Independent Woman Director on high-level corporate boards and a consultant to retail, social, and craft businesses, she aims to combine commercial impact with social impact, which is her area of interest, passion, and experience. She also offers business planning support to ensure sustainability. She began her career in export finance at TATA Motors, spent six years in corporate banking product management at ABN AMRO Bank, and then moved to Fabindia, where she worked for 12 years in a variety of divisions, including international business, retail operations, and opening new stores. She also launched the personal care line and developed systems, processes, and internal audits. Afterwards, she managed Fabindia’s entire sourcing and supply chain for its wholly owned subsidiary. Mankad holds an MBA from Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies at Mumbai University and an Economics (Hons) degree from Lady Shriram College for Women in Delhi.
