HDFC Bank inducts new directors after merger with parent HDFC Ltd
HDFC Bank Ltd announced the change in the Board on 30th June 2023.
Keki M. Mistry and Renu Karnad have been appointed as the Non-Executive Independent Directors of the company.
Keki M. Mistry is the Vice Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Housing Development Finance Corporation Limited. He is a fellow member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India. He is a well-known expert with more than 40 years of varying work experience in the banking and financial services sector. He is now a member of the Securities and Exchange Board of India’s (SEBI) Primary Markets Advisory Committee. He is the head of the SEBI subgroup charged with reviewing the Reverse Book Building Process and the Framework Stock Exchanges used for Compulsory Delisting.
Renu Karnad has worked in India’s real estate and mortgage industry for more than 40 years. She has received various honours and recognitions over the years, including being named one of the “Top 25 non-banking women in finance” by U.S. Banker magazine and one of the “Top Ten Powerful Women to Watch Out for” by Wall Street Journal Asia. She graduated from the University of Delhi with a master’s degree in economics and the University of Mumbai with a bachelor’s degree in law. She also attended the Woodrow Wilson School of Public and International Affairs as a Parvin Fellow.
Also, V. Srinivasa Rangan has been appointed as the Whole Time Director of the Company.
V. Srinivasa Rangan is an Associate of The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI). He is an authority in economics, accounting, auditing, and finance, Risk management, legal & regulatory compliance, business governance, and strategic planning. He has a wealth of experience in the real estate and housing finance industries. In Ghana and the Maldives, Rangan has participated in international consultancy projects related to housing finance. He has a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Delhi.
