JSW Steel Ltd announces change in its board

Harsh Mariwala has stepped down as an Independent Director at JSW Steel Limited, effective July 25, 2023. Harsh Mariwala, Non-Executive Chairman of FMCG major Maricois also serves as Chairman & Managing Director of Kaya Skin Care Ltd., which operates as a subsidiary of Marico Ltd. He is also a board member of 14 other companies. Throughout his career, Mariwala has held notable positions, including Chairman of Marico Bangladesh Ltd., and he has been actively involved in various business and industry associations. He completed his undergraduate degree at Sydenham College of Commerce & Economics.

In another developments JSW Steel Limited has redesignated, Jayant Acharya as the Joint Managing Director & CEO, effective May 19, 2023, transitioning from his previous role as Deputy Managing Director. Additionally, Gajraj Singh Rathore has been appointed as a Whole-time Director with the designation of “Chief Operating Officer” for a period of five years, starting from May 19, 2023. Furthermore, Nirupama Rao has been re-appointed as an Independent Director on the company’s board for a second term until July 24, 2028.
