Pernod Ricard GTR’s leader Mohit Lal retires after 23 years

Mohit Lal, the current Chairman and CEO of Pernod Ricard Global Travel Retail (PRGTR), has announced his retirement after 23 years of service. Laurent Pillet, who is currently the Managing Director of Pernod Ricard Eastern Europe, will succeed Lal in September. Lal joined Pernod Ricard in 1999 and held various leadership positions, including Managing Director of Asia Travel Retail and Chairman and CEO of PRGTR. He played a pivotal role in creating a new global entity and strategic roadmap for the company, which resulted in growth, efficiencies, and the establishment of a new organisation. Under Lal’s guidance, PRGTR became the top wine and spirits company in the channel. Lal also steered PRGTR through the COVID-19 pandemic by prioritising employee well-being and anticipating the needs of travelers in the post-pandemic world. Lal expressed confidence in Pillet’s abilities and said that he would be supported by an exceptional team to continue driving success. Pillet, with over 30 years of experience in Sales, Marketing, and General Management, has been with Pernod Ricard for 28 years. He played a key role in developing Pernod Ricard Sub Saharan Africa and also led the creation of Pernod Ricard Peru and Chile before assuming his current role.
