GK Satish becomes the first Indian to join the board of Russian oil giant Rosneft
In a significant move, the Russian oil company Rosneft has inducted Govind Kottieth (GK) Satish, a former director of the Indian Oil Corporation, to its board of directors. He becomes the first Indian to join the Russian oil company’s board of directors.
GK Satish, 62, stepped down from his position as director of commercial development at IOC in 2021. He has worked in the energy industry for three decades, and his most recent position was Managing Director of ValPro Pvt. Ltd. India. Satish has abachelor’s degree in engineering from the SV National Institute of Technology in Surat, as well as a management degree from MDI, Gurgaon.
Rosneft operates a joint venture with the Indian Oil Corporation. It sells crude oil to Indian enterprises including IOC. Most recently, it started shipping naphtha to refineries in Gujarat.
