R. Vidhya Shankar Resigned as an Independent Director of Sakthi Sugars Due to Conflict of Interest with Karur Vysya Bank

R. Vidhya Shankar, Additional Director and Independent Director of Sakthi Sugars Limited has resigned on August 22, as there would be conflict of interest as a Director of the company while serving as Independent Director of Karur Vysya Bank in view of the Bank’s exposure to certain entities in Sakthi Group of Companies.

Independent Director of Karur Vysya Bank; and Senior partner Shankar works at M/s Ramani & Shankar. He frequently gives speeches at professional institutes such as the Chamber of Commerce, Bar Association, and others. He is currently a member of the Executive Committee of the Tamil Nadu Planters Association, the Governing Council of the Chamber of Commerce in Coimbatore, and the Board of Directors of Anugraha Valve Casting Ltd. He received his bachelor’s degrees in law and commerce from Bharathiyar University in Coimbatore.
