Morgan Stanley Adjusts Diversity Messaging In Annual Report

Morgan Stanley has revised its diversity language in its latest annual report, shifting focus to meritocracy and workforce representation.

The report, published on February 21, 2025, no longer includes the bank’s previous statement that diversity and inclusion are critical to its success. Instead, it emphasises meritocracy and workforce representation aligned with its global client base. This change comes as companies reassess diversity commitments amid policy shifts under President Donald Trump’s administration. Other banks, including Citigroup and Goldman Sachs, have also adjusted their diversity policies. Morgan Stanley reported that 40% of its global workforce and 29% of its officers are women, while in the U.S., 35% of employees and 28% of officers come from ethnically diverse backgrounds.
