Mayank Kumar, Co-Founder And MD Of Upgrad, Has Stepped Down To Pursue New Venture

According to the source, edtech unicorn Upgrad’s Co-Founder and Managing Director (MD), Mayank Kumar, has stepped down from his position to pursue a new venture.

As of this month, Kumar has scaled back his operational involvement with the company while seeking investor backing for his new startup, which aims to place skilled Indian labour abroad, particularly in the healthcare sector.

Due to the exit of Kumar, the company’s founder and Chairman, Ronnie Screwvala, is reportedly taking more hands on the post within the company.

Mayank Kumar currently serves as Chair of the FICCI New Education Providers Sub-Committee. Prior to Upgrad, he has worked with iNurture Education Solution Pvt. Ltd., Bertelsmann India Investments, The Parthenon Group, and Tata Strategic Management Group. He has completed his MBA from Indian School of Business, and he did his B.Tech from Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi.
