Bharti Airtel Appoints Rajan Bharti Mittal As Non-Executive Director

The Board of Directors of Bharti Airtel Limited has approved the appointment of Rajan Bharti Mittal as an Additional Director in the capacity of a Non-Executive Director with effect from October 28, 2024, in place of Rakesh Bharti Mittal. Subject to the approval of members.

Rakesh Bharti Mittal has been appointed as a Non-Executive Director on the Board of Bharti Hexacom Limited and has also been nominated on the Board of Indus Towers Limited.

The company has nominated Soumen Ray as a Non-Executive Director in place of Randeep Singh Sekhon on the Board of Indus Towers.

Rajan Bharti Mittal is the Vice Chairman of Bharti Enterprises and in joint ventures with several global leaders: Singtel, Del Monte, SoftBank, the UK, and the French Government, amongst others. Rajan joined Bharti Enterprises after graduating from Panjab University. An alumnus of Harvard Business School. He serves as a member of several industry associations and policymaking bodies. He is currently an honorary member of the Board of Trustees of Brookings Institution and a member of the President’s Council on International Activities (PCIA), Yale University. He is a leading member of the WEF initiative on the Alliance of CEO Climate Action Leaders India. He is also a member of the India-Singapore CEO Forum. He served as the President of the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) India in 2012–13. He was also the President of the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) for the years 2009–2010 and is currently a member of its Executive and Steering Committees. He has also served as the President of the Association of Basic Telecom Operators. He has been honoured with the “Indian Business Leader of the Year Award 2011” by Horasis, The Global Visions Community, and has also been awarded the “Leonardo International Prize 2012” by Comitato Leonardo, the Italian Quality Committee.
