RBI Rejected Religare Enterprises’ Application To Appoint Rakesh Asthana As Director

According to the sources, Religare Enterprises Limited’s (REL) application to appoint Rakesh Asthana to the Board has been rejected by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI). Last November, he was appointed as an Additional Director of REL.

Rakesh Asthana was the former CBI Special Director and Delhi Police Commissioner. He is a retired Gujarat cadre Indian Police Service (IPS). He retired as Delhi Police Commissioner, having previously served as the head of the Border Security Force, Director General of the Bureau of Civil Aviation Security, Director General of the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB), and various positions at the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), including Deputy Inspector General.
