Thomas Buberl Set For CEO Reappointment At AXA Following Board’s Proposal

AXA’s Board of Directors plans to propose the renewal of Thomas Buberl’s mandate as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) for another four years, subject to shareholder approval.

Buberl has been CEO of AXA since 2016. Buberl started his career as a consultant at the Boston Consulting Group in the banking and insurance sector. He joined Winterthur Group in 2005, which was acquired by AXA in 2006, and held senior roles, including Chief Operating Officer and Chief Marketing and Distribution Officer. Buberl later became CEO of AXA Konzern AG (Germany) and CEO of AXA’s global health and life & savings business lines. Buberl holds a master’s degree in economics from WHU Koblenz (Germany), an MBA from Lancaster University (UK), and a PhD in economics from the University of St. Gallen (Switzerland).
