Spirit Airlines names Fred Cromer as CFO
Spirit Airlines has made notable changes to its executive leadership team, appointing Fred Cromer as Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer, effective July 8, 2024. Cromer, a veteran with 30 years in the aviation industry, succeeds Interim CFO Brian McMenamy, who will continue in a senior finance role.
Cromer’s extensive background includes serving as CEO and CFO at Xwing, Inc., and as President of Bombardier Commercial Aircraft. His expertise spans financial management, strategic planning, and operations, focusing on guiding companies through growth and transformation. He holds an economics degree from the University of Michigan and an MBA in finance from DePaul University.
Additionally, Spirit Airlines appointed Dana Shapir Alviene as Senior Vice President of Inflight and Airport Experience, effective July 29, 2024. Alviene, who has held roles at Avianca and JetBlue Airways, brings extensive operational and customer service expertise.
Tomas Ranaldi has been promoted to Vice President of Financial Planning and Analysis, effective immediately, in recognition of his contributions since joining Spirit in 2015.
