Sheela Foam Appoints Rahul Gautam as Chairman and Tushaar Gautam as MD

The Board of Directors at Sheela Foam Limited has approved Rahul Gautam’s resignation from the post of Managing Director and appointed him as Whole-Time Director and Chairman. And also approved the appointment of Tushaar Gautam as the Managing Director of the company, with immediate effect.

Rahul Gautam is the promoter of the company; he has more than 40 years of experience in home comfort products and PU foam. He’s been part of Sheela Foam since 1971. Gautam is Chairman of Joyce Foam Pty Ltd. in Australia and Interplasp in Spain. He founded the Indian Polyurethane Association and is currently its honorary chairman. He’s also a founding member of the Global PU Group and has been recognised as a Distinguished Alumnus of IITK, Kanpur. His CSR activities include the Sleepwell Foundation, supporting an ITI for women in Delhi, and establishing a chair at HT, Kanpur. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Technology (Chemical Engineering) from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur, and a Master’s Degree in Science (Chemical Engineering) from the Polytechnic Institute of New York, USA.

Tushaar Gautam is the largest shareholder and youngest board member of Sheela Group, and he is the son of Rahul Gautam. He leads the Research and Development Division at Sheela Foam. He’s well-travelled and well-versed in global technologies and work practices. He holds a science degree in Industrial Engineering and Management from Purdue University, USA. He has a strong background in tennis and has played in various international matches.
