Sharad Mahendra Appointed As Joint MD And CEO Of JSW Energy

Sharad Mahendra has been appointed as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and Managing Director (MD) of JSW Energy Limited, with effect from February 1, 2024.

Following Prashant Jain’s decision to take early retirement, Sharad Mahendra has been appointed as a whole-time Director (Joint Managing Director and CEO, designate) at JSW Energy, effective December 1, 2023. His term as a whole-time Director is for five years. Prashant Jain will continue in his positions until January 31, 2024.

Mahendra has been the CEO of JSW Steel Coated Products Limited, a wholly-owned subsidiary of JSW Steel. He previously worked with JSW Energy as Chief Operating Officer (Energy Business) in 2017, overseeing power sales, mining, corporate commercial, legal, coal procurement, regulatory affairs, and corporate affairs. In 2019, he was appointed as a whole-time Director of JSW Energy but left in 2020 to take on the role of CEO at JSW Steel Coated Products.
