Ravi Dhariwal Appointed Non-Executive Non-Independent Director of Bata India Ltd

Bata India’s shareholders have approved the appointment of Ravi Dhariwal as a Non-Executive Non-Independent Director of the company. Ashok Kumar Barat has been reappointed as the Independent Director while Anil Ramesh Somani has been designated as Director of Finance and CFO (KMP) of the Company.

Ravi Dhariwal is the founding partner and Chairperson of Sagacito Technologies. He is also a Senior Advisor, Mentor, and member of the boards of several prominent public and private companies. Dhariwal was the Group CEO of Bennett & Coleman, India’s biggest media firm, with diverse media platforms such as the world’s largest-selling English newspaper Times of India, The Economic Times, Radio Mirchi, Times Television Network, Times Internet, Times O0H. He also served as the Global President of the International News Media Association from 2011 to 2013. In 2014, he was recognised for his volunteer work with World News Media.  In his career spanning over four decades, he has established consumer firms all around the world. He has worked in a variety of cultures, assisting businesses in gaining client loyalty and consumer esteem. He was the first employee of PepsiCo in India. Ravi holds an engineering degree from IIT Kanpur as well as an MBA from IIM Calcutta. He received the Distinguished Alumni Award from IIM Calcutta in 2013 and IIT Kanpur awarded him in 2019.
