R. Synrem Appointed MD of the India Tourism Development Corporation

The Ministry of Tourism, Govt. of India, has temporarily appointed Mebanshailang Rynjah Synrem as Managing Director-ITDC on October 11, 2023, for a term of 1 year or until they find a permanent replacement, whichever is earlier. Synrem is currently the Joint Secretary and Additional Director General (JS&ADG) in the same ministry.

R. Synrem joined the Indian Administrative Service in 2002 in Assam-Meghalaya. In his 20-year career in Meghalaya, he excelled in various government departments, like Information Technology, Transport, Urban Affairs, and Commerce. He also worked in healthcare and insurance. He actively engaged with industries to improve government-industry coordination and created policies. In 2019, he became a Joint Secretary in the Indian government. In January 2023, he joined the Ministry of Tourism.
