Neelkanth Mishra to be the part time Chairman of UIDAI

The Unique Identification Authority of India may soon nominate banking veteran Neelkanth Mishra as a part-time Chairman of the board. Nilesh Shah, MD of Kotak Asset Management Company, and Professor Mausam of IIT Delhi may be nominated as part-time members. The developments come just a few weeks after senior IAS official Amit Agrawal took over as CEO of UIDAI.

CNBC TV-18 cited sources to report the three significant appointments, which have yet to be officially announced. According to information on its website, the UIDAI board consists of a chairperson, two part-time members, and the CEO (who is also the Authority’s Member-Secretary). While Agrawal took over as CEO in June of this year, he is now the nodal body’s only board member. These appointments would fill all of the vacancies on the Aadhar administrator’s board.
