MCA is set to commence collaborative workshops with Indian Inc. soon

The Ministry of Corporate Affairs (MCA) plans to hold webinars and meetings with businesses to identify and address any regulatory gaps. Anuradha Thakur, Additional Secretary at MCA, highlighted the importance of strong corporate governance for a healthy economy. She noted that regulations need to keep pace with the rapidly changing corporate landscape and technology. MCA’s goal is to create a level playing field by collaborating with professionals and businesses to ensure everyone understands the rules and requirements. Thakur also emphasised the need for swift action against corporate wrongdoing to promote good corporate governance. MCA has already closed regulatory gaps in areas like investments from countries sharing a land border with India. They now plan to revamp company law rules with public input to improve regulations and simplify compliance, in line with the Finance Minister’s budget announcement. The aim is to complete these consultations by the end of the fiscal year through online feedback and in-person events in various cities. This aligns with the government’s goal of involving the public in the regulatory process.
