Lee Seo-hyun, Daughter of former Samsung Chairman Appointed as President of Samsung C&T
Lee Seo-hyun, the second daughter of the late Samsung Group Chairman Lee Kun-hee and younger sister of Samsung Electronics Chairman Lee Jae-yong, is returning to the realm of management. She assumes the role of president at Samsung C&T.
Samsung C&T, the construction and energy arm of Samsung Group serving as a holding company for major affiliates, announced on Friday that Lee will be appointed as president, overseeing the company’s strategic planning.
With her background as the former president of Samsung C&T’s fashion division and president of Cheil Worldwide’s strategy and corporate management, Lee is poised to enhance Samsung C&T’s brand competitiveness. Her expertise in fostering successful cultural initiatives and social contributions at Samsung will be instrumental in her new role.
Lee, who studied design at Parsons Design School in New York, began her career at Cheil Industries in 2002, initially managing the fashion division. In 2018, she stepped back from corporate duties to assume positions as chair of the Samsung Welfare Foundation and head of the advisory Board at the Leeum Museum of Art.
