Jio Financial Services Appoints Rama Vedashree as Independent Director

The Board of Directors of Jio Financial Services Limited approved the appointment of Rama Vedashree as an additional Director designated as an independent Director, for 5 years, with effect from March 30, 2024. Subject to the approval of shareholders.

Rama Vedashree was the CEO of the Data Security Council of India and has 35+ years of experience in the industry. Vedashree has had long stints at NIIT Technologies, Microsoft, and General Electric. Her previous roles include those of Director at Microsoft Global Services and Vice President, GE India. She has experience in the diverse domains of IT consulting, e-governance projects, and business development for infrastructure projects, including health and water sectors at GE. As Vice President of NASSCOM, she led the healthcare initiative in partnership with the apex health sector body, NATHEALTH. She also spearheaded the technology industry engagement on several Mission Mode eGov projects, including Aadhaar, GSTN, and Smart Cities. In her last role, she was CEO of the Data Security Council of India. She was also a member of the Justice Shrikrishna Data Protection Committee.

Vedashree is a gold medallist from the Central University of Hyderabad; she has also done short-term programmes at HBS and Cornell University. Long-distance running is her hobby, and over the last 10 years she has participated in several half-marathons.
