ITC Appoints Alok Pande As Non-Executive Director
The members of ITC Limited have approved the appointment of Dr. Alok Pande as a Non-Executive Director of the company for a period of three years, with effect from July 27, 2024. Dr. Pande will represent the Specified Undertaking of the Unit Trust of India.
The Members have approved the reappointment of Sunil Panray as a Non-Executive Director for five years, with effect from December 20, 2024. Panray represents Tobacco Manufacturers (India) Limited, a subsidiary of British American Tobacco P.L.C..
Lastly, the Members have also approved the reappointment of Sumant Bhargavan as a whole-time Director for two years with effect from July 12, 2025, and the reappointment of Supratim Dutta as a whole-time Director for three years with effect from July 22, 2025.
Alok Pande, 52, a senior civil servant specialising in finance, is presently Additional Secretary, Department of Investment and Public Asset Management (‘DIPAM’), Ministry of Finance, Government of India. Presently, he is on the Board of Advisors of the Specified Undertaking of the Unit Trust of India and a Director on the Boards of Indian Bank, AI Assets Holding Limited, AI Engineering Services Limited, and AI Airport Services. In his career spanning over 29 years, he has held various positions in the Government of India, including Joint Secretary – DIPAM, and Director – Department of Financial Services (‘DFS’) in the Ministry of Finance. As Joint Secretary, he handled the IPO of the Life Insurance Corporation of India and played a key role in listing three government companies, viz., Mazagaon Dock Shipbuilders, Indian Railway Finance Corporation, and RailTel Corporation of India. As Director, DFS, he was instrumental in the launch and execution of the Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana. He holds a Bachelor Degree in Engineering (Mechanical) from the Motilal Nehru National Institute of Technology, Allahabad, and has also completed a Fellow Programme in Management (Doctorate) from the Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore.
