Issues with the MCA 21 site continue to vex compliance officers
Several company secretaries and chartered accountants (CAs) have complained about the MCA 21 portal on social media. They have stated that there have been technical issues with the portal delaying the downloading of certificates of free registrations, uploading of crucial documents, and completion of critical forms. According to CAs, these delays lead to fines and have a negative impact on how well company secretaries perform. The MCA 21 portal is a system developed by the Ministry of Corporate Affairs (MCA) to automate compliance with rules established by the Limited Liability Partnership Act of 2008 and the Companies Act.
Version three has received more complaints than version two. Venture capitalist-funded startups among others were impacted by the more than 63 forms that were switched to V3. The MCA has established helpdesks and a dedicated Twitter account to address these concerns, but the complaints still come in. Further forms will be converted to V3 by the MCA, which could result in more complaints if the current problems are not fixed.
