IndusInd Bank Re-appoints Sumant Kathpalia as Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer

The Board of Directors of IndusInd Bank Limited on September 27, 2024, has considered and approved the reappointment of Sumant Kathpalia as the Managing Director (MD) and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) for three years, with effect from March 24, 2025. Subject to the approval of the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) and the shareholders of the bank.

Sumant Kathpalia is a fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) and has over 36 years of experience in multinational banks like Citibank, Bank of America, and ABN AMRO before joining IndusInd Bank. His leadership has played an important role in driving corporate growth, innovation, and growing the bank’s consumer distribution network. His emphasis on using decision sciences and digitisation has transformed client experiences, establishing IndusInd Bank as a customer-centric organisation. Kathpalia is a graduate of Hindu College at Delhi University.
