Govindayapalli Rao Appointed as Executive Director at SEBI

The capital market regulator, the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI), has appointed Govindayapalli Ram Mohan Rao as its Executive Director for a term of three years. Rao will be responsible for the investigation department and internal inspection.

Prior to his current appointment, Rao was SEBI’s Regional Director for the eastern regional office. He oversaw various portfolios, such as inspections, the establishment of investor service centres, promoting investor awareness, addressing grievances, and coordinating with 13 states or Union Territories, among other duties. He holds certification as a fraud examiner from the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners.
