EPL Reappoints Davinder Brar And Sharmila Karve As Independent Directors

The Board of Directors of EPL Limited on May 28, 2024, approved the reappointment of Davinder Singh Brar and Sharmila A. Karve as Independent Directors for a second term of five years each, with effect from August 22, 2024. Subject to the approval of the shareholders at the ensuing annual general meeting of the company.

In addition, the shareholders of the company have approved the reappointment of Dhaval Buch as Non-Executive Director.

Davinder Singh Brar is the promoter of GVK Biosciences Pvt. Ltd., Excelra Knowledge Solutions Pvt. Ltd., and Davix Management Services Pvt. Ltd. He began his professional career with Associated Cement Companies (ACC). He also worked with Ranbaxy Laboratories Ltd. as MD and CEO. Presently, he is Chairman of Mphasis Ltd. and serves on the Board of Directors of Maruti Suzuki India, Wockhardt Ltd., and Mountain Trail Foods (India) Pvt. Ltd. He also serves on the Advisory Board of the USA-India Chamber of Commerce (USAIC). He holds a bachelor’s degree from Thapar Institute of Engineering and Technology, Patiala. He earned his master’s degree from the Faculty of Management Studies of the University of Delhi.

Sharmila Abhay Karve was an audit partner at Price Waterhouse. From 2009 to 2012, she served as the Head of Audit for the Price Waterhouse network in India. In 2012, she transitioned to Head of Risk and Quality for the India network and was later appointed Head of Diversity and Inclusion for the PwC network. She is a fellow Chartered Accountant of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India.
