Elias George Appointed Independent Director of Federal Bank

Federal Bank Limited announced the appointment of Elias George as an Independent Director with effect from September 5, 2023. George is a retired IAS who served both in various Union Ministries as well as in the State of Kerala, focusing particularly on infrastructure creation and financing and running public utilities. After retiring from the IAS, he served in the consulting firm KPMG as a senior partner, heading their vertical handling of infrastructure, government, and healthcare, overseeing the work of more than 1,000 consultants. Elias George was the Additional Chief Secretary to the Government of Kerala, CEO of the Kochi Metro Rail Project, and Chairman of the Unified Metropolitan Transport Authority. Elias George has a bachelor’s degree in technology in naval architecture and shipbuilding from the University of Kochi, a postgraduate diploma in public administration with a specialisation in international economic relations from the Institute International Administration Publique (IIAP), Paris, and assorted short-term management development courses in India and the U.S., including the Harvard Kennedy School of Government.
