Denise Wong Appointed as Barclays’ Asia Pacific Head of Sustainable Banking

Denise Wong has been appointed to oversee Sustainable Banking for the Asia-Pacific region at Barclays. She will work from Hong Kong to assist businesses in going green and meeting their sustainability goals. Denise Wong, who has over 20 years of expertise, will report to Vanessa Koo, the Asia Pacific Head of Investment Banking.

Denise Wong has worked at Barclays in Hong Kong and New York. Prior to this position, she worked in venture capital and as the Chief Financial Officer of Green Monday, an Asian alternative protein company on the rise. She formerly worked at Barclays for 12 years, then was in charge of Consumer and Retail in Asia Pacific (excluding Japan) for investment banking.

Vanessa Koo emphasised, “Denise’s appointment shows our commitment to supporting our clients in Asia Pacific with their sustainability efforts.” Denise Wong will also work closely with Brian Reilly and Marie Freier, who lead Sustainable Banking globally.
