CEO Of Nike, John Donahoe, Is Set To Retire; Company Veteran Elliott Hill To Replace

John Donahoe, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Nike, will retire next month, marking another leadership change as the company navigates sluggish sales, the company announced on Thursday.

Donahoe, who became CEO in January 2020, will leave Nike on October 13 but will continue to serve as an advisor until the end of January. Elliott Hill, a former Nike executive who retired in 2020, will take over as his successor.

Before his retirement, Hill held several senior roles across Europe and North America, most recently serving as Nike’s consumer and marketplace president.

In order to fortify its ties with retailers, Nike has also rehired a number of former executives this year, most notably Tom Peddie, who was previously employed in July as vice president of marketplace partners. Prior to retiring in 2020, Peddie worked for Nike for thirty years.
