Arunangshu Sarkar Appointed Director (Strategy & Corporate Affairs) at ONGC

Arunangshu Sarkar has been appointed as Director (Strategy & Corporate Affairs) of Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC) Limited, effective from September 15, 2024, until his superannuation or further orders, whichever is earlier.

Sarkar holds a B.Tech. in Petroleum Engineering from IIT (Indian School of Mines), Dhanbad, and an MBA in Marketing from IGNOU, Delhi. He has completed senior management programs at institutions such as MDI Gurgaon, the Energy Delta Institute (Netherlands), the University of Antwerp (Belgium), the IFP Training School (Paris), and the Frankfurt School of Finance & Management (Germany). He has also undertaken strategic planning and management training with the International Human Resource Development Corporation (IHRDC) in Boston, USA.

With over 37 years of experience in the oil and gas industry, Sarkar has an extensive background in both domestic and international business functions. He has contributed to exploration and production (E&P) projects in countries including the USA, Russia, Venezuela, Canada, Germany, Sudan, Singapore, Thailand, Malaysia, Dubai, Italy, France, the Netherlands, Belgium, and Bangladesh.

Fluent in English, Spanish, Hindi, and Bengali, Sarkar is a seasoned professional in the industry, bringing a wealth of global expertise to ONGC.
