Alkem Reappoints Basudeo Singh as Chairman, Narendra Aneja as Independent Director
The Board of Directors of Alkem Laboratories Limited has approved the reappointment of Basudeo N. Singh as Executive Chairman for three years, with effect from April 1, 2025.
The Board has approved the reappointment of Narendra Kumar Aneja as an Independent Director for five years, with effect from March 16, 2025.
Furthermore, the Board has approved the reappointment of Sarvesh Singh as Executive Director for five years, with effect from November 11, 2024.
All the reappointments are subject to the approval of shareholders at the ensuing annual general meeting.
Basudeo N. Singh, co-founder of Alkem Labs, has five decades of experience in the Indian pharmaceutical sector. His leadership led him to serve as President of the Indian Drug Manufacturers’ Association. Singh’s vision and resilience drove the company’s accelerated growth, culminating in his being named ‘EY Entrepreneur of the Year in Life Sciences’ in 2016. Additionally, he serves on the Executive Council of the Indian Pharmaceutical Alliance and was honoured as ‘Chief Mentor of the Year’ by the Indian Drug Manufacturers’ Association. He holds a B.A. (Honours) and an M.A. in political science from Patna University.
Narendra Kumar Aneja, inducted onto the Board in 2020, is the Chief Executive of Aneja Associates, Chartered Accountants, India. He is a Fellow Chartered Accountant, a Certified Internal Auditor, holds a Certification in Risk Management Assurance (CRMA), and has an MBA from Wharton Business School. A Gold medallist (ICWA) and Tata Scholar, he was also ranked on the Director’s List at Wharton School (1978). With over 30 years of experience in Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) assignments and management consultancy, he brings a wealth of expertise to the Board.
Sarvesh Singh has been with the company since 2011 and joined the Board in 2019. With over 10 years of experience in sales and marketing in the pharmaceutical industry, he leads the Pentacare and Prizma divisions of the company’s domestic business.
